Day trip to South Yuba River

My friends and I decided to spend Memorial Day somewhere private and close to nature. We couldn't handle the wind on the beaches around the Bay or the winding road to Tahoe, so we ended up going to Crossing 49 near the South Yuba River (insert a lot of research here).

When I was reading about this place on google, supposedly, people can sun bath on the rocks and swim right underneath the bridge, like in the pictures down below.

When we got there, it looked more like this:

The staff there told us due to the glacier melting and the rain this year, the current is too dangerous to even get close to. Bummer!

Nevertheless, it was still a magical experience just being able to watch and listen to the river running. We hiked alongside the river and eventually we were taken to a hidden beach. Some giant rocks and widened riverbank slowed down the river so we were able to dip our feet and feel the clear icy water. And of course I had to ask/force my boyfriend to take some pictures for me in my new favorite bikinis ( s/o to Sommer Swim for making the best quality, flattering bikinis).

I had some fun with the edits and I hope you enjoy them as much as I did making them :)
